Bits and Pieces: Audible Architecture concerts in Chicago, Vice Photo Show in NYC, art + cocktails

+ Who doesn’t love art? Who doesn’t love cocktails as they look at art? Who doesn’t like FREE cocktails as you look at art? New Yorkers with a yen for art, drinks, people-watching and tapas should check out the Friday cocktail event at Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, running every Friday evening from now till August 15th. It’s free with museum admission, runs from 6-9pm and takes place at the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden at the museum. Details found here; I can’t wait to go myself, once I get back to civilization! + Chicagoans in the mood for some free music by cool people should check out the Audible Architecture Concert Series, sponsored by Pitchfork Music Festival and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. You just missed Bill Callahan of Smog, but coming up on August 4th is Tortoise, and August 18th will feature the Ex! It’s Monday at noon at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park. I’m jealous! On August 1, they kick off their 6th or 7th Annual Photo Show at the one-month only Vice Gallery where you can see photos by many, many awesome people and buy some very affordable artist prints.
