But I was half-asleep and now I can’t really remember it. There was something about Annie and Liz’s shared weariness and wry sense of humor, their ragged hotness and zero bullshit tolerance; maybe there was also something about blowjobs. And they’re both Midwestern girls with great legs, though I don’t think you could write “Flower” about Jon Hamm. Maybe Annie could write “Shatter” about the cute Irish cop.
Anyway, I re-watched Bridesmaids the other day and the “Paper Bag” cupcake scene still kills me. Soulfully making one lovely cupcake and then eating it alone feels more Let It Be Beautiful-y than Exile in Guyville-y, to me, and now I keep listening to “Paper Bag” and really feelin’ it and it’s bugging me! I don’t wanna really feel “Paper Bag.” I don’t really wanna feel anything off of Exile in Guyville, either. I’d much rather just listen to “Supernova” a lot and watch the Bridesmaids airplane scene, which is my favorite scene, especially when Annie says “It’s called civil rights. This is the ’90s.”

“Ragged hotness” is the perfect description for Kristin Wiig and Liz Phair. I am basically always trying to copy their hair’s ragged hotness! Also, does the beginning of the Paper Bag video owe something to the Buffy musical episode? Maybe just because it’s jazzy and Fiona Apple looks a little like Dawn.
Anyhow, this post merges several of my favorite things. And I love when KW says all quiet, “help me, I’m poor.”
i’ve actually only ever seen the first two episodes of ‘buffy’! kat is our resident ‘buffy’ expert.
i say ‘help me i’m poor’ in my head like 8000 times a day. i love it!!
The use of Paper Bag in that scene killed. Lots of unbidden memories of my own floated to the surface.
