Being a big sci-fi nerd, I was a sporadic watcher of “Fringe” — because how could I resist a show about warring parallel worlds, an intelligent, super-capable but emotionally complicated lady FBI agent working for a covert division, and PACEY FROM “DAWSON’S CREEK”!!! I wasn’t too drawn in right away, but I kept dropping in because I thought Anna Torv was such a great, subtle actress who bore a bit of a resemblance to Cate Blanchett, playing a character that took a page out of the Agent Scully playbook but with a bit more melancholic edge. But man, something happened at the end of last season and the show has gotten so freakin’ good, like it finally found its footing. I had always thought Anna Torv as Agent Olivia Dunham was good, but my girl crush on her didn’t really activate till she discovered her doppelganger in “Fringe”‘s parallel world, who (bear with me) managed to switch places with “our” Olivia Dunham, trapping her in the parallel universe while taking her place and wreaking havoc in our world. As Alt-Olivia, Anna has a certain swagger and cockiness, not to mention red hair and a penchant for cool leather jackets that would make Cayce Pollard proud. That with her husky voice and DAMN SHE IS SO HOT. Go watch “Fringe”! Lots of action and smartness! AND PACEY FROM “DAWSON’S CREEK”!!

Pacey is all grown!

it is of note that in the parallel universe in “Fringe,” John Lennon still lives. also: totes cute when Alt-Olivia asked “who is bono?” and said it like “bone-no”…

oh Fringe! SO good, probably my favourite thing on tv right now (competing with Mad Men, at least). jenn.x
Fringe and Mad Men are def. where it’s at in terms of tv + me! although i did watch Gossip Girl just to see Clemence Poesy, but that show is like a time warp, it keeps recycling the same old relationships and conflicts. xo k.
My sister loves Fringe (and Pacey) but I haven’t seen it yet. I rarely watch continuing TV shows because I am terrible at remembering when they’re on, but in the interests of family bonding (and enjoying a husky voice) maybe I will check this one out. But should I try to somehow watch all the previous episodes before jumping in?
you can keep up with Fringe on the internets, that’s how i watch most of my tv — watching 2-3 eps at once. you can go here to catch up with the previous seasons’ key points:

and if you wanted to catch up this season, i think there are only about 3 eps to watch? that’s the thing about a lot of sci-fi shows, they get pretty dense with ‘mythology.’

I think that was the first time Kat ever said “John Lennon” on the blog
i do believe it was. xo k.
